After GPHS I went to Adelaide Uni
and finished medicine. I then joined the Navy and was sent to Sydney for
five years as a Medical Officer. After I left the Navy went back to Uni in
Sydney for a year, then worked in private practice. I came back to the Royal
Adelaide for two years and finished my Fellowship in the College of
Physicians. Went back to Sydney and I'm now in private practice in the
western suburbs - I spend a lot of time in the car.
I still live in Sydney in a terrace
in Balmain. By Adelaide standards our house is tiny. I've been married to
Lesley for 23 years. She has been a variety of things including; she was a
social worker, she worked in the performing arts for years and she is now a
lawyer and works for the NSW government. We have a teenage son, Tyrrell,
whose main interests are Playstation2, on-line games, horrible music,
cycling and arguing.
My main interest is boating - Les
and I have a 64 year old (wooden) converted trawler called Elisa Jane which
we usually just paint or repair. Sometimes we actually go somewhere in it,
but usually only around Sydney Harbour. Otherwise we go away on holidays, or
just hang around Sydney, though we get back to Adelaide a lot. We can't seem
to get Adelaide quite out of our system. Les is an AFL tragic and we barrack
for the Swans.
I like jazz and hate Tyrrell's
music. I'm thin and have lost most of my hair.
