Easter 2007 by 2Cv
Saturday 7th April 2007 continued.
From Corrigin it was a short drive to Yealering where we pitched camp.
Yealering was a small town and seemed mainly to consist of a railway siding, a butchter and a pub.
The pub was a prime example of colonial architechture.
The 2CV club arrival at camp ritual was then performed:
Unusually, this author was not initially there to participate. That was because he had walked into town to take the above photographs. He was subsequently so captivated by the internal architecture of the Hotel that it took several ales to overcome the awe. The picture at right is the proceedings in action.
If you look carefully at the tree which appears to be growing out of the barbeque chimney, there is a greenish clump growing in the middle of it. One of the ladies present was invited under the tree to look up and observe it. It was then explained that it was in fact Mistletoe. The question was then posed: "Do you think it is just coincidence that we are standing underneath it?" Tradition then followed its course. The mood spread and soon couples who had been together for years got caught up in the moment. The photos say it all.
There only remained dinner at the pub and post-dinner frivolity to conclude a great day.
